After three years off this platform, I'm back on because of what's happened at @washingtonpost and what we're trying to do about it at @CityCast_DC. We're going to start hiring journalists immediately to make sure DC continues to have great, useful, ambitious local journalism...
I love the details about NOTUS negotiation with the Washington Star. NOTUS offered $5k for the trademark. Star countered with ….$10 million https://t.co/xc2GSLdg1o
DC TAB, 5/29/26. A storyline that would be enen more fun if Washington had an old-school tabloid! H/t to my @citycast_dc comrade @emmauber7. Always read her: https://t.co/7EcP5QiNFq
We are thrilled to announce that @alyssafowers is joining City Cast DC as data reporter! 📈 She joins reporters @EmmaUber7 & @Kaela_CS, Managing Editor @yukvon and Executive Editor @michaelschaffer. More here — and more to come on our expanding newsroom! https://t.co/0AyScqupfO
The new mayoral poll @CityCast_DC dropped today is fascinating. @Janeese4DC's support massively tilted to young, white newcomers. @kenyanmcduffie voters much older, and DC longtimers. And ranked choice voting could absolutely decide the election. https://t.co/ASVY6lVg7x
It’s official — we’re making history!
As @CityCast_DC reported, “Two Ward 1 candidates are teaming up in an unusual alliance — and urging voters to rank them both — in one of the clearest signs yet that ranked choice voting is reshaping D.C. campaigns.” https://t.co/ddlDBA2qh5
I'm back!
There's been a lot of discourse about D.C. youth, so for my first story @CityCast_DC I decided to talk TO the teens, not just ABOUT them.
I spoke with 10 teens about youth curfew, whether there's enough for them to do, etc. Read here:

The expansion of @CityCast_DC continues--our march toward total and complete DMV news domination. We've hired the irrepressible @TheArtist_MBS as our City Hall reporter and the unstoppable @yukvon as our Managing Editor.
Our hiring spree at City Cast DC begins: Very happy that @emmauber7 is joining City Cast DC as a reporter, working alongside newly announced Executive Editor @michaelschaffer
We can't replace the Washington Post overnight, but @CityCast_DC is hiring four local journalists--three reporters, one editor--to help cover the city I love. https://t.co/utXhIOvkBn
As we reported last night, some journalists/news orgs are stepping up coverage of DC in the wake of WaPo's cuts. In addition to @CityCast_DC's growth, the Baltimore Banner is expanding coverage of PG County. Some other small projects from Post vets are also in the works
