Key transportation initiatives in the budget include $153mn to maintain Metro operations and $500K to continue Virginia’s leadership in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), which has the potential to deliver low-cost, feeder air service to rural areas of the Commonwealth.
1. Taxes the data centers on their energy use
2. Directs DEQ to establish statewide noise regulations
3. Directs DEQ to address water scarcity issues, and
4. Establishes a process to conduct a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis
I’ve focused on college affordability since my first election in 2017. This year’s budget includes substantial investments in higher education. In the past 9-years, our investments have resulted in a 10% decline in tuition in real dollars.
Today we passed the 2026-2028 budget with major bipartisan support. Over the next several weeks, I’ll highlight some key points and benefits in the budget.
