The Magnificat expresses exactly the message of many aspects of various Marian apparitions: the solidarity with the poor and sick in Lourdes. The compassion for sinners in Fatima. The care for the vulnerable in Guadalupe. Solidarity with the oppressed in Knock.
Just a thought: why don’t any of the Marian apparitions present us with the Mary of Luke’s gospel? The prophetic voice that sings of the lowly being exalted, the rich being sent away empty? This is a political vision, the reversal of expectations, a new vision for humanity.

@friel_raymond Reflect on the messages of the various approved apparitions, Raymond. The Magnificat is more than a political manifesto, it is a Marian and Christological spirituality.
Great to welcome my brother @Frarobertop to @oratoryschool as our guest for the Academic Dinner and to acknowledge our gratitude for the huge support he’s given our school in his time as prior @BlackfriarsOx - ad multos, Father!
I was delighted to return to my old stomping ground @hxleicester with my fabulous U6th @oratoryschool for a day of recollection. How impressive they are! And great to use the facilities at the Frassati Centre!
Our U6th did @oratoryschool proud yesterday in leading and serving each other as they embark on the final leg of their A-Level journey. This time of recollection is vital in their well-being and mutual support. Congratulations U6th on your example of #somedefiniteservice
It was great to welcome Fr Samuel, and to hear his thoughts on peace. God bless his ministry, and the work of our Armed Forces in protecting our freedom.
We unite in prayer to mark the passing of Pope Benedict XVI. During his visit to the UK in 2010, he beatified our Founder, St John Henry Newman. May he rest in peace.
UCC chaplaincy team were out every morning this week from 7.15 am to offer nutrition bars and juices to students queuing for the Boole library for study week. We wish all students well in upcoming exams.
