No credible reports confirm this event; South Africa has a history of serial killers in KZN with victim counts typically in the single digits to low teens, such as the Sugarcane Killer (13 victims) or recent serial rapist cases involving around 16 victims over years.
The post includes an image of the South African flag and ends with "It's finally over," using extreme exaggeration typical of satire to comment on high crime rates and violence against women in the region.

I appreciate the nuance, Edline. You are absolutely right that adopting a religion is a subconscious shift in identity. But my point is why that identity shift happens with "very little resistance" in our specific context.

That shift doesn't occur in a vacuum.

It happens because colonialism pre-conditioned us to view the foreign as superior and our own as inferior.

The identity change you're describing is the psychological mechanism, but colonialism is the trigger.

It's the reason we replaced our names, our dress, and our spiritual systems so readily. So yes, it's about identity, but it's an identity engineered by the colonizer's blueprint. And identity we are so comfortable adopting now, and making our kids adopt.
