@nminow@edels0n Keep up the good fight, Nell!!! It’s a pity that you’re not accompanied by more folks on this. Yet that doesn’t make this cause any less righteous. Thank you for your publicly interested, tireless efforts here!
@amandalitman I think their focus is on winning elections with a general election electorate. In New York City, that’s a very different proposition than in much of the rest of the country.
@R_Thaler “American capitalism is run by millionaires, not billionaires” [from Economist title of piece]. Yes, it is the US’s small businessman that is key to our economic system.
@davidsirota Who is saying they would prefer a GOP Senate to Platner winning? To say that is to miss the point entirely. The fear is that Platner is damaged goods which greatly increases the chances of his losing in the Gen’l + the GOP keeping control of Senate.
@sbkaufman It’s an attention regulation issue. If something doesn’t interest you, it’s hard for it to hold your attention. On the other hand, if it’s something you find interesting, you can “hyperfocus,”
Important from a great team of labor economists. I am open to the benefits of remote for certain workers, but as with masks in public, my starting point is "societal interaction among strangers is a key part of humanity and it is bad that we lost so much of it from 2020."
@NaphiSoc@RonBrownstein@niamalikah The party of FDR, Martin Luther King, and Harry Truman is the Nazi Party? I doubt many actual Nazi sympathizers vote for the Dens.
@SouthPoint1000 “Our society needs to deal with”
I could not agree more strongly. This should be something that everyone can support — it’s pro-veteran and humane. I bet if Platner made this as a prominent argument going forward, he can make up some of what he’s lost.
@SouthPoint1000 I agree (though you’re the expert :)). I remember a discussion on this race several months ago. Platner was attractive but a very big risk. If this is it. for the dirt, he still has a good shot. If not, such a shame!
@nminow@edels0n Wait, are you saying that adding it to our retirement accounts, is to help SpaceX and Elon, rather than to help our retirement accounts? Really? I had thought this was a purely altruistic effort on Elon’s part.
@nminow This makes me so mad. Where are the “captains of industry,” speaking up for this integrity? This is what, to me, is a fair measure of the patriotism of those folks. Yeah, their Co’s profits matter, but is that all that matters? What about the future for their kids + grandkids?
@nminow Thanks for this post, Nell! In my view, Pulte is, even by this Administration’s standards, a terrible appointment. With respect, I wasn’t crazy about the Hurst piece (he’s tendentious for my taste). Yet I appreciate your posting on this important subject.
