One of the best parts of these appointments is how much Trump is empowering younger generations to lead this country.
Boomers hung on for way too long and Trump is the first one to show a willingness to hand over the guard. A truly honorable and noble thing.
Just now: Oprah says that if Trump wins, "it is entirely possible that we will never have the opportunity to cast a ballot again"
Friendly reminder that no one voted to make Kamala Harris the democrat party's nominee. Every accusation is a confession.
Isn't it sad that we all know that in a fair election Trump would win the landslide, but we have to sit here worrying about how much Democrats will cheat?
To gay Americans: you’re free to marry who you want (if you want), without the government standing in your way. But that doesn’t mean men should compete with women in sports.
To black Americans: the media has tried to convince you for decades that Republicans don’t care about your communities. We want for you what we want for every American: safe neighborhoods, clean streets, good jobs, a better life for your children, and a justice system that treats everyone equally – regardless of your skin color or your political beliefs.
To every *legal* immigrant: you’re like my parents. You deserve the opportunity to secure a better life for your children in America. But our message illegal immigrants is also this: we will return you to your country of origin, not because you’re all bad people, but because you broke the law.
To Gen Z: you’re going to be the generation that actually saves our country. You want to stand up to the man? Try calling yourself a conservative. Say you want to get married, have kids, & teach them to pledge allegiance to our country.
A couple things on this, because I've realized this fear has inhibited some pastor friends, and it shouldn't.
1) While I was clear about the evil of some policies currently being advanced by the DNC and moral asymmetry, I specifically did not endorse a candidate in the sermon.
2) Progressives selectively report churches to the FFRF every year (you'll never see this article about the church Kamala Harris spoke in last week or any "Evangelicals for Harris" pastors' churches). It's an attempt at street-level lawfare.
3) Articles like this are toothless and you should just chuckle at them. We have a lawyer that argues Religious Liberty cases before SCOTUS at Lakepointe. No church in US History has ever had their tax exempt status removed for a sermon, much less for one in which a candidate was not even endorsed.
4) In the words of a couple knowledgable guys I consulted with, it's a harassment and intimidation tactic to silence pastors.
Intent of this post isn't to be combative, but I have realized this fear has intimidated some pastor friends and after looking into it, wanted to remove that fear.
Pastors, if you feel led to teach on Christians & voting / government / politics, do it.
Obviously wisely and with the Word.
I fear my generation of pastors was so focused on discipling people out of "political idolatry", we accidentally discipled them into POLITICAL PASSIVITY.
~32M Christians are currently planning on not voting this election.
The last election was decided by a strategically-placed 42,000 votes.
