@DanScavino@RonaldReagan@MarkJCarney@fordnation The only thing Reagan loved more than tariffs was The Berlin Wall. I’ll always remember him saying: “Mr. Gorbachev, don’t touch that wall!” I’m sure the foundation will back me up on this.
@HandmaidAlberta When running for city councillor, he knocked on the front door and immediately came inside the house. I was in the living room with my wife and newborns twins. I said angrily: what gives you the right to come into our house uninvited? Nixon looked at his asst and rolled his eyes.
@strombo@validmavericity I was lucky enough to discover SCTV in the late ‘70s, when I had just become a teenager. I loved it back then. Of course, I bought all the DVD sets and watched it again as an adult. I loved it even more because now I understood almost all of the references. So smart. So funny.
@EricTrump You are right! We welcome the U.S. to become our 11th province and your dad can be Premier Trump of the Province of Southern Canada. Your people will finally get publicly funded healthcare and your dad can stop pretending he has a concept of a plan.
@MickPuck 35 years ago last night, I witnessed one of the best concerts of my life: The Waterboys, on Halloween night, on the Fisherman’s Blues tour, at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver. Flew out to see the show and so glad I did. Thank you for the memories and music.
Hey, @YnysMusic … hello from Western Canada and thank you for putting the new LP in the post, along with the nice note. It arrived! Having a great time listening to it tonight on the hi-fi. Such layered, complex sound design but it all sounds so effortlessly and poppy! Cheers!
@pulmyears I know. I'd be curious how that happened. I'm thrilled, by the looks of it, the Smiths will never reunite and sully the perfection of their four years together, just as I'm thrilled The Jam never did. Just as I'm disappointed The Pixies didn't leave perfection alone.
@Steven__C I really started diving into the JA catalogue following the release of 2400 Fulton Street in 1987. So imagine my excitement when these players reunited for a new studio album! Will it be like Pillow? Volunteers? Crown? Even Bark? No, it will be ... terrible, as you say,
@planet_beatles Put into context: these sessions happened about five *weeks* after the release of ‘The White Album,’ while Yellow Submarine was released and shortly after Yoko miscarried. And they came up with an album this good while laying the groundwork for their swan song. God-like.
