@_KeithCook @LouStagner I'm firmly in the camp of "I don't care if historic venues/records are threatened, but there is still a problem". IMO, bifurcation is a good thing, and between that and course setup, a lot of the problems can be solved or at least lessened.

@Julius_Reiner @LouStagner But EVERYONE is competing on that same day, right? Besides weather, this is a potential "pressure" issue, since they aren't playing the same day, and IF they make the cut, they have an extra day of rest as opposed to the other schools.

@LouStagner Yeah, no. This is something known well in advance. They should move EVERYONE'S rounds, or none at all. If it was the match play and BOTH teams agreed to play a different day, that's different. This is absolutely unacceptable.

@Pclancy_90 @LouStagner To an extent, yes. How much will vary. The more your fitter had to "tune" the driver 1 way, the more it will be affected the other way. The more neutral the settings are, the more likely it is to work the other direction reliably.

@LouStagner @SnobbyScheffler My gut says driver, because that would be a HIO on anything 350 or less, and DoD on anything else is a guaranteed 2 (if DoD is allowed). But, with my current game, making every putt from 10-20 feet would be a HUGE change. I'm torn, but leaning towards the putts.

Apparently, part of their non-profit status (or so I was told) involved EVERYTHING being charged to a member acct, no cash, no cards. We took them to a NICE dinner later.

Maybe Tiger pushed Phil to be better and w/o Tiger, Phil never wins a major. Maybe w/o single length clubs, Bryson is just good, but no wins.

@LouStagner The difference between long and short players seems to be greatest in the long game (175ish to 225ish +) and least from 150 in. IF its a problem that needs fixing (debatable) then force the long players to be more accurate or layup to a distance where everyone is more even...

@wingoz tbf, the lofts, shafts, & balls are different, & it sometimes sounds crazy cuz it's downhill, downwind, or a flyer lie in the rough. BUT, these guys can absolutely smack the ball. I've played with some former college golfers, and they can HIT it, but they aren't CLOSE to Pros.

@Tillman_40 @wingoz THIS. Yes, the pros are better, swing faster, make better contact, etc, so they'd hit anything farther than us (or the pros from 20-30 years ago). But, their lofts are different (and so are most of ours), the shafts are slightly longer, and the ball is different.

@wingoz I get it, but I think once your club touches the ground right behind the ball, if it moves then you caused it. I know they know what they're doing, but it scares the bejeezus out of me when they ground the club SO close behind the ball.
