I've written my fourth book as a rebuttal to the culture of self-censorship. Many people are publicly silent about "off-limits" topics eg. men competing in women's sports, the rise in anti-Semitism, the Covid vaccines for kids (the list goes on).

As the only headteacher, out of 20,000+ in the UK, to question lockdowns, masking kids and the Covid vaccine rollout to children, it made me wake up to the chronic issue of people self-censoring out of fear of reprisals from others. This must end before things get worse.

@drchatterjeeuk So much evidence shows that we learn deeper when we write with a pen or when we read from a printed document / book - children will pick up technology easily and intuitively so I don't see the need or rush for homework or lessons to be on screen or at least not the majority!

As the only headteacher in the UK to point this out at the time (even though others privately agreed with me) we return to the serious issue of self-censorship and people in positions of authority not speaking out about safeguarding concerns.

We must only have people leading schools, and working with children more generally, who put safeguarding ahead of self-preservation. The silence from my colleagues was avoidable and could have prevented so much unnecessary harm.

A genuine @covidinquiryuk would examine the censorship industrial complex which expanded during the pandemic. How the UK Government dealt with dissenting voices and silenced those who questioned lockdowns, masking and the Covid vaccine rollout to children. Particularly why and how they portrayed many of us as dangerous extremists in the eyes of the public.

In order to do this, they would need to examine the use of the psychological Nudge Unit, Counter Disinformation Unit, Rapid Response Unit, the involvement of the intelligence agencies (MI5 and MI6), the use of the British Army to spy on British citizens (77th Brigade) as well as sinister actions such as shutting down the government's Ethics Committee.
