I definitely use a transcript or the actual episode to help with the dialogue at time since that sort of fanfic is the type I like to write for, and I also have huge outlines where I know hwat I want to do/what hints I'm laying for the future/etc.

Finished writing my next request one shot, so I went back to outlining my longer fic during the couple minutes I had for lunch today and just now realized my big reveal for the third act makes way more sense at the end of Act 2, so now I have to go back and re-outline the couple
