@SamGannon87 700 Million+ to keep the stars would’ve crippled the Dallas economy, simply to keep a franchise in Dallas to the suburbanites can enjoy the amenities of the city while not paying taxes to fund it
@KevinGraySports When you factor that on top of highway maintenance bills that will come due, we are backed into a corner that we can’t pay our way out of. Does it suck that franchises are moving? Yes, but this is just as much a symptom of the pro sports addiction to raising value as anything
@KevinGraySports This is the thing that should be getting more attention. From Dallas’ perspective they can’t justify spending billions to keep franchises in the city limits when they have other projects to pour into. The Convention center, Fair park, County Jail and City Hall are all huge costs
@dramatic_one people riding the DART from anywhere other than the silver line will not be inclined at all to ride up to a silver line station and trek over. Would take over an hour from any line that services into downtown
Texas state Rep. and Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico responded to GOP attacks over his past remark that God is “non-binary,” telling @edokeefe that some of his previous comments “missed the mark.”
“There are some statements that I’ve made that I certainly regret,” Talarico said, adding that Ken Paxton, whom he will face in November, “is intentionally clipping my cringey comments to distract from his career of corruption.”
@chris_kratovil The Economy is a big draw but the amenities and identity of the DFW burbs lack inspiration. Dallas itself is misunderstood and has a lot to offer, but the other areas in the metroplex are a copy paste sprawl that offers little difference than any other suburban metro elsewhere.
@MavsFilmRoom As someone who hated the fact that I had to settle in Texas, the Mavs were a bright spot of contentment and connection with the city of Dallas that made it feel like home. Nico and new ownership wiped that away with the stroke of a pen
