No soul can soar to the place of living loved when it’s a performance-based endeavor. Living loved is sourced in your quiet daily surrender to the One who made you.
So remember this today, sweet friend. You don’t have to earn God’s love. You can simply receive it.
Unrealistic expectations often lead to our greatest frustrations.
That's why the best place for us to look is always Jesus. He is the answer to our every need. He is our one true source of satisfaction.
In a world that promotes tearing others down to build ourselves up, we can make a difference by using our words to bless and encourage.
And simply giving kind words is one of the greatest ways to make the love of Jesus known to those who so desperately need it.
I don’t know what steps of obedience God is calling you to take. But let me encourage you to keep going. Keep trusting. Keep taking step after obedient step.
We don’t have to understand the why of God’s ways. But we do need to keep choosing to follow them.
Thank you, God, that Good Friday wasn't the end of the story. That the story didn't end in heartache and despair, but with hope, victory and rescue. The story ended with our resurrected Savior walking out from the grave. Jesus was, and is, victorious!
Connecting our faith to whether or not God answers our prayers when and how we want is shaky ground.
We must attach our hope and our affection firmly to who God is... not to what we want Him to do. Only then will we have hearts that are settled and secure.
The more we pay attention to seemingly small, moment-by-moment instructions from God, the more our thinking will start to line up with His.
Our mind will get in a new rhythm of seeing what He wants us to see, so that we can do what He wants us to do.
Sometimes to get your life back, you have to face the death of what you thought your life would look like.
God has a good plan in mind, sweet friend. But it’s probably not going to look anything like the one of our own design.
God knows things we don’t. And that means we can trust His perspective instead of our own understanding.
Heavenly Father, we confess we spend far too much time trying to figure things out on our own. Remind us that You and You alone are the one we need to turn to.
When the Enemy tells you you’re not smart enough, you’re not strong enough, you don’t have the right background, you don’t matter enough . . . look up and lock eyes with the King. Hear Him say, "Daughter—Son—I wouldn’t rather be anywhere else than at this table with you."
"The Voice of God is the most powerful force in nature, indeed the only force in nature, for all energy is here only because the power-filled Word is being spoken." - A.W. Tozer #TozerTuesday
Sometimes, we just have to walk through stuff even when we desperately just want to quickly get over it.
But the going through is what will get us on the other side with a greater understanding that God has always and will always be with us.
God knows things we don’t. And that means we can trust His perspective instead of our own understanding.
Heavenly Father, we confess we spend far too much time trying to figure things out on our own. Remind us that You and You alone are the one we need to turn to.

You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.
- Psalm 63:1
Let’s praise God today for who He is … Our God who fulfills His purposes. Our God who saves. Our God whose steadfast love and faithfulness know no end.
Tonight, instead of feeling guilty for who you’re not, I pray God will help you celebrate who you are.
Dear Lord, You made me in Your image & that is something I seem to forget daily. Help me remember to celebrate & live in who You made me to be & not in what I wish I was. Amen.
The hard situations we're facing? We don’t need to know all the details of how it will turn out. We just need to keep our hearts positioned closely to God in trust. And He will surround us with His reassurances and perfect love.
