We cannot afford to live like the others, or seem like nothing happened. U Rwanda rutibuka sirwo twifuza. Tutibutse ntitwabaho, kuko kubaho kwacu ni ukwibuka. Kwibuka is a reflection of purpose and commitment to preserve memory of our people we lost and to our future.

“The memorial before us is powerful, because it sets the truth in stone and protects it from the heartlessness of time, by instructing the living. It is not a validation, because none is needed. But it will stand as a mark of respect for the dignity of Rwandans and our history.” President Kagame | Inauguration of Monument in Paris honouring the victims of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi.
"At @Aegis_Trust, we believe that remembrance must be accompanied by education. Memory tells us what happened; education helps us understand why it happened and what we must do to prevent it from happening again. This project speaks directly to that belief." - @FreddyMutanguha.

“Confronting historical responsibilities requires real courage, because it generates fierce opposition by those with a case to answer. You need a strong sense of humanity to see it through. President Macron, I want to commend you on both counts: courage and humanity.
You acknowledged that France could have stopped the genocide, but did not. In response, I described your words as something more valuable than an apology: namely, the truth. This door was first opened by President Nicolas Sarkozy, and I wish to commend him today.
The Genocide against the Tutsi was foreseeable, and in fact foreseen, and France was in a unique position to observe and to act. It took too long for France to come to terms with its role, causing additional pain. And on some points, we still have not found consensus. I fully understand the feelings of those survivors and advocates, who remain dissatisfied with the official record. But I believe that our common work has initiated a journey towards truth, which is irreversible.
And France was not alone in falling short, far from it. Many other countries did so as well, but none has gone as far as France in setting the record straight and accepting its part in the tragedy.” President Kagame | Inauguration of Monument in Paris honouring the victims of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi.
"A monument commemorating a genocide is therefore simultaneously a strong commitment to combating forgetting, a duty of prevention, and an educational tool for present and future generations. It is a fine example that other states should emulate. Never Again."
Congratulations to our #VisitRwanda partner Paris Saint-Germain @PSG_inside on their well-deserved UEFA @ChampionsLeague title and on being crowned champions for the second consecutive year.
Congratulations as well to @Arsenal on reaching the final and fighting with determination until the very end.
Both clubs have made their supporters proud, but tonight, PSG proved to be the better team!

"The death of Genocide suspect Félicien Kabuga before standing a trial has exposed what the judge at a UN tribunal described as a “systemic gap” in international criminal justice."
