My opinions are my own but you can have them too for a low, low price. Compilers, Operating Systems, related shizzle. Open source. Program analysis. Politics.
I know it shouldn't be the thing that matters but this change to "X" is the nail in the coffin for me. (It's not really the thing that matters, but it is the last straw). Combined with the increase in unwanted content, the departure of people I follow, etc, it's time to go.

I'll probably continue to read for a while at least, but I'll no longer be making posts on this site, and eventually I hope to move away from it altogether. I'll update my Github profile with new accounts in case anyone wants to keep following.
@CoxyJindas @cbdbug @bne_lordmayor Hang on, aren't there four green bridges?
Oh. Right. Two of them are still "paused to prioritise flood recovery". Apparently we haven't recovered from the floods yet.
@MagicalBeaker@kareem_carr Yep. There's a much simpler explanation for why .999... = 1. It is that 1 - .999... = .000..., and .000... = 0 since no matter how many digits you calculate, they are all 0.
@MagicalBeaker@kareem_carr No, but you're missing the point. I'm not saying the conclusion is wrong, I'm saying the reasoning is unsound. Your "disprover" isn't part of the original reasoning.
@MagicalBeaker@kareem_carr Obviously 0.888 != 1. My point was that the argument given for why .999... = 1 is bad, because it would also apply to 0.888...
@ryansrumblings Since it's apparently that easy, could we get an update on the West End to Toowong green bridge Cr Murphy? Seems like it's been in limbo for years. No need to reply personally, just bung it up on the website
@diddledani remember some time ago, we played with @ChimeraOS_Linux on WSL?
Thanks to the "systemd" property (which actually launches /bin/init), here's the latest rootfs with dinit working.

When a politician resorts to name-calling, it brings into question whether they have any legitimate argument at all. It's an indicator that spite has priority - often over rationality and truth.
REVEALED: Clueless Cassidyβs footpath manifestoβ¦ rip down thousands of trees and rob Brisbane residents of their right to be consulted. #noconcretejungle
Given the amount of interest a tweet showing a photo of an empty cycle lane got, I thought it's a good time to bust out this one again.
Cycle lanes and footpath don't appear congested as they (mostly) allow people to move through quickly and efficiently.
With our integration of SLSA provenance generation in Micronaut, it's now harder to launch supply chain attacks. See our blog post on using Macaron to automatically analyze Micronaut artifacts used as dependencies: https://t.co/3fbLvOC4iF Macaron: https://t.co/kceedfasp1
A team at Oracle is currently being put together to develop static analysis tools. It's a niche area but an interesting one. If you have experience in or genuine interest that area, and good software development skills, it might be a good fit for you. DM me for more info.
@CoxyJindas And weβve had several cars not give way when turning into a side street this week, often blasting their horns at us for daring to cross. There is no awareness of that rule at all.
Car drivers will complain bitterly about how cyclists flout the road rules, just before they turn into a side street that a pedestrian is trying to cross without giving way
