It’s very possible that this person is a conservative living in a leftist area, but the overall point is that generally, people wanna armchair quarterback their politics and serve virtue by voting horribly in these areas, only to wake up when something bad happens to their face. They don’t really care about putting a stop to this happening to someone else until that happens.
