Vice President Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel held a strategic meeting with a senior delegation from the World Bank Group, led by Mr. Charles Undeland, the Country Manager for South Sudan.
The officials discussed key fiscal and structural reforms to promote macroeconomic stability and ensure long-term fiscal sustainability in the country.
Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel appreciated the World Bank’s enduring support to South Sudan through technical expertise, policy advice, and financial assistance. He hailed the institution as a key partner in South Sudan’s economic recovery and affirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening this vital collaboration.
Mr. Undeland commended the Government’s progress and assured the Vice President of the World Bank’s continued support.

Enjoyed participating in a validation workshop of a diagnostic assessment of #SouthSudan National Ecosystem for the implementation of a Social Registry in #SouthSudan, together with Honorable Aya Benjamin Warile, Minister of Gender, Child, and Social Welfare and other @SouthSudanGov senior officials. @WorldBankGroup is partnering with the Government to explore how the country can design and implement a Social Registry which is critical for modernizing the digital social protection delivery system in #South Sudan. A well-developed social registry can serve as a gateway for the identification and selection of beneficiaries and can contribute to reduced duplication, and improved service delivery to vulnerable populations in #SouthSudan.
