@BEACHYBIRDER If you look at the range map, it is puzzling to me that such a very long distance migrant refuses to overshoot the channel more often, esp. at its narrowest in Kent. Given that they are really common at this side.
Confirmed by an expert who had some small reservations about the fact that the call has some slight variations throughout the recording (not exactly the same note every time, some variations a bit atypical to his ears). But he thinks that are still OK for an Iberian Chiffchaff.
@BirdGuides The pictures of the huge, species-rich flock of waders in which it was found are equally impressing and mouth-watering. That and the closeness to known wintering areas makes it surprising that it is 'only' the third record imo.
@stormcabbirds First of all, I think this is a 2nd winter/3cy based on the grey feathers and diffuse patterning on the upperparts. And for a Kumlien's at this age you would expect a darker hockey stick pattern on the outer primaries among other things.
At best a darkish 2w Iceland Gull imo.
@BEACHYBIRDER@mission753 Did you see the video on how Red Bull is bringing Formula 1 knowhow into cycling to make riders go faster! Pure science fiction! https://t.co/pI0XaZaUpU
😱😳🫢 https://t.co/qS59xYaIym
Today I found my 3rd Dusky Warblerof this autumn. That is Zeebrugge for you. Lowie Lams once found 3 of them in one morning within the timespan of 2 hours!!! I did not get it recognizable on photo, but you can always trust on them to call frequently: https://t.co/xJSc17sc8u
And another one! They keep on coming.
Also a late influx of Yellow-browed Warblers at the Belgian Coast. This year we have, exceptionally and significantly more Yellow-broweds in November than in October.

While looking for and dreaming of the first twitchable BF Bunting for Belgium, I crossed paths with Dusky Warbler (SF9) and Sibe Chiff today. Still looking, still dreaming, but at least happy!
