Specialist intervention with high-dose short-term medication couldn’t fix it unfortunately. I wonder now if it had been picked up sooner if it would’ve made a diff…

I didn’t notice anything wrong with my hearing (except maybe a slightly unbalanced tuning fork test which I should have pushed for more investigation on but didn’t bc I didn’t notice any differences with my hearing) until I suddenly woke up one day

Google has quietly stopped searching by Exact Phrase when you use quotes.

Now by default Google will return pages and pages of results you don't want. Google now thinks you use quotation marks for no reason even though quotes have specifically been the correct format for exact phrase searches on Google.

Maddenly, even using the Advanced Search page and the "This exact word or phrase" text box no longer searches by exact phrase.

I was trying to see if the air purifier company IQAir ever mentioned a key air filtration term on their website. So I typed in an exact phrase search for just the IQAir website:

What I got was 6 useless pages of links to pages that do not contain the exact phrase "most penetrating particle size," but instead contain some or all of the words. That's the result I should get when I don't use quotation marks.

You can fix this behavior on a search results page by going to the "Tools" drop down menu and changing the "All results" setting to "Verbatim". There is no way to set Verbatim as the default for future searches AFAIK.
