@Meaning_of_Fife @anon_opin I think I’m one of the few who prefers exams to written assessments. I perform better in exams - revise, revise, revise then it’s over and done with. I tend to overwork and overthink assessments and spend far too long on them

@Meaning_of_Fife @pjm1kbw Surely if the funds are being used for his carers to support him in the uk then it makes no difference if they are supporting him in the US. Especially as he’s paying for the holiday himself?

@Meaning_of_Fife @pjm1kbw Actually it’s not that he thought it was his to keep it’s that he thought he could use it for something else to meet his needs. Direct payments are awarded to meet certain needs and there is supposed to be an element of flexibility into how they are used. 1/

@Meaning_of_Fife @pjm1kbw He wanted to use the funds to pay for his carers to help him on holiday so paying for his care needs and he said he’d pay for his holiday himself. The council are wrong imo

@Meaning_of_Fife @pjm1kbw As long as they are meeting the predefined ‘needs’ eg socialising, care needs. Direct payments are paid to a separate account to his main account and have to be accounted for to the council with receipts every quarter.
