[Dawn Jenkins @dawnonpatrol]

@StagecoachNE Hi, I got the bus after due at 19.45.

[Dawn Jenkins @dawnonpatrol]

@StagecoachNE waiting for 39 at the temporary bus stop heading west can see it on the tracker turns up not in service! What’s going on Stagecoach?

[Dawn Jenkins @dawnonpatrol]

@StagecoachNE It was 17.20-17.30 and the bus was running a bit late.

[Dawn Jenkins @dawnonpatrol]

@StagecoachNE thanks very much no39 for missing out my stop at John Dobson St-Carliol Square!

It's on, it's off. It's happening, it's not. 100% true or completely fake. Good news is coming or just the same old story...

Which is it??

We want this to be true. So, if it happens we'll give away 10 of these St James' Park a3 prints!

RT to enter.

Whiffle (1500s): to waver indecisively on an issue, or try to avoid it altogether. Doing so makes you a whiffler; the process is known as whifflery.

A little word origin for the day: the dot above the letters i and j is called a 'tittle'. The expression 'to a T', meaning 'exactly', was originally 'to a tittle' - i.e. down to the smallest detail.

[Susie Dent @susie_dent]

I know I’ve mentioned this before, but you can never have enough of ‘snudging’, a word from the 1600s for ‘remaining snug and quiet; nestling’.

[Susie Dent @susie_dent]

A reminder today of a beautiful and necessary word that disappeared centuries ago: ‘respair’ is fresh hope; a recovery from despair. #NeverForget #Armistice2018

This will be familiar to many, but I love the fact that Bluetooth technology owes its name to a 10th century ruler - one King Harald Bluetooth, who united Denmark and Norway. His nickname was thought appropriate for technology that brings devices together.

It’s strange being here without Barry #Darlington

'The dog's bollocks' was originally slang amongst printers for a colon followed by a dash, for obvious reasons : ⎯
