The progress of 'Path of Eruption' from beginning to end. I did forget to take a before photo but I think you get the jist of how it looked before I started.
Can't wait to create more lava and volcano inspired art.

So this piece has been sat on the floor staring at me for the past few weeks now.
Once my final assignment for uni is finished this will be the first piece I finish and I can't wait to get back to it.

@HubGeology Crocodiles always come to mind, even though they have evolved somewhat, it isn't to the same extent as many other animals.
I believe brachiopods still exist too, though very small in number now. They also don't seem to have evolved much from their ancestors.
So I mentioned in one of my last posts that I want to combine my #art with my love for #EarthSciences, this is the beginning of that journey.
I thought this piece would be perfect to get started with since it already sort of looks like #lava 🌋
🤞I can bring my vision to life.
🌋🚨Looks like there is a seismic swarm going on at Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula at the moment—specifically, at Svartsengi, where the next eruption (based on the magma accumulated below) is anticipated any hour/day now.
Things could culminate in an eruption. Or go quiet again.
Got some new ideas brewing that I can't wait to start on. Once I'm finished with uni for the summer I'll have more time to focus on #art.
Going to be combining my art with my love of #EarthSciences, in particular potentially one of the most destructive forces of nature 🌋
So I'm hoping to experiment more with my alcohol inks this year and develop my style with them. This little guy is the beginning of that process 😁
It's nothing much just a little ink play.

I didn't really have a plan as I started painting this.
I love the formation in the clouds and how the hole in the centre gives a peek to the stars that have started to shine. It gives a glimpse of the darkening sky before the clouds take over.

This is one of my earlier cloudscapes and currently one of my favourites.
It reminds me of those warm, breezy summer days where you just sit watching the thin, fluffy clouds roll by.
This was a joy to create and I found myself lost in the moment.
