@Abubakar1560771 I was born in the US and feel really connected to Palestinians in Palestine. We tend to focus on the things in front of us, but I feel ideologically aligned with basically every Palestinian I meet. I love our community. We are so united. I think most of us feel this way.

Now that he won’t stop talking, the folks who told us Hasan Piker is a serious voice who should be listened to ought to let us know which of these positions we’re supposed to take seriously:

1. That “pound for pound,” America is worse than al-Qaeda - a ridiculous statement on a normal day, but particularly vile the same week we’re reflecting on the loss of 3,000 Americans on the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

2. That Communist China’s repressive regime is the “model” for America.

3. That Mao was “a great man of history” while the collapse of the Soviet Union was "one of the greatest catastrophes of the 20th century."

The great thing about America is that everyone is entitled to their opinions and free to express them, however dumb or immoral. That includes ‘Comrade’ Piker. The rest of us are just as free - obligated even - to call out this vile, hateful speech that only divides America.

@RealNicoPol I’m telling ya, the conditions for her campaign were not good. She competed with another very progressive person. She burned tons of bridges. She ran in a conservative district. She barely survived her recall in Seattle proper. Her popularity is pretty much gone.

@RealNicoPol She has significantly less volunteers because people don’t want to volunteer for her and there’s several reasons for it. She has huge name recognition here. Like I said, I wanted her to win, but she never had a chance in that district. She’d struggle in Seattle proper, too.

@marindatanow She was! But things have changed. I don’t really know what else to say. A lot of Seattle leftists don’t like her and she’s not very good at coalition building. This is the reality here in Seattle. I wish she won and I would have voted for her if she was in my CD.
