Queer spaces will be a MUCH better space if we learn to differentiate between gender presentation, sexual orientation , and gender identity and how you are FREE to present yourself one way and not have the stereotypical sexual orientation and/or gender identity associated with it
this is a really good example of how by changing the meaning of words you do a disservice to victims. an adult writing erotica clearly marked as erotica for other adults online isn’t grooming kids. grooming is a deliberate act that requires manipulation on a personal level
“guy from critical role” (travis willingham) being sephiroth is doubly hilarious if you use the exact same phrasing to point out that the previous voice of sephiroth was in fact derek hale of mtv’s teen wolf
critical role started as "a bunch of nerdy ass voice actors playing dungeons and dragons" meaning most of them were already fully established within the industry with TONS of credits to their name so claiming CR is what gets them roles and not their years of experience is insane
Fanfiction is not "grooming the children."
Ao3 is not a children's site, and fic writers are not your babysitter. We have NO obligation to write kid-safe works.
Stop minimizing ACTUAL grooming & abuse just bc you want the entire internet to become a padded toddler's playpen.
the narrative that fanfiction are "grooming" kids is just a trojan horse for digital censorship. these "child safety" arguments are being used to dismantle the few spaces left for adult expression and queer communities
