I’m not apologizing for protecting my children. Ever. If that means certain family members have to stay at a distance because their behavior is toxic, then that’s exactly where they’ll stay. And if that makes me the “villain” in somebody else’s version of the story, I’m perfectly fine with that. Because every time those same people open their mouths or show their character through their actions, they do nothing but confirm why the boundary was necessary in the first place! My responsibility is not to keep the peace for grown adults who refuse to act right. My responsibility is to keep my children safe, and I will choose that every single time.
Normalise not telling your child's business to the whole family. Your children should trust you enough to know what y'all talk about won't be in the next ear.
No he's not cheating, but there's no flowers, no surprises, no appreciation posts, no sweet messages, no dates (unless you practically beg for them). the truth is laziness CAN slowly kil love. sometimes simply being loyal just isn't enough.
this girl on TikTok said, “if I tell you all the trauma I endured from my mom and you look me dead in my face and tell me ‘that’s still your mom’ I’m going to beat you how she beat me.” and she’s so real. stop undermining people’s trauma.
i heard someone say on a podcast.
“God didn’t split the red sea before moses got there.”
moses had to show up first. then the water moved.
we keep waiting for things to make sense before we take a step. waiting for the way to clear before we start walking. waiting for a sign before we commit.
but moses didn’t get a sign first. he got told where to go. and he went anyway.
faith isn’t sitting still until the miracle happens. faith is moving toward it when you can’t see how it will work out.
Having a baby is the ultimate reality check because you become aware of all the flaws that you need to fix so that they don't inherit them. They truly do motivate you to be a better person.
