They say in life, there are three certainties: death, taxes, and inflation. The last one holds true, even for scoring in the NBA.

There is too much parity in the league. It makes winning it all not seem special. Since 2019 Kawhi, Lebron, Giannis, Curry, Jokic, and Tatum have all won it. Canโt remember anytime where 5 different teams won in 5 years.
The 2024 NBA Playoffs saw a significant decline in viewership compared to 2023, with ratings dropping by 11% to 2.4 and viewership by 12% to 4.53 million, per @paulsen_smw
โNonetheless, the Finals has now gone five years without a single game hitting the 14 million mark โ a figure that even the World Series has reached more recently (Game 6 in 2021).โ

Jaylen Brown covering his eyes post dunk was almost as embarrassing as my own basketball days, when I shot the ball with my right hand, but held the follow through with my left.
Interesting insights from Adam Silver on the return to the 48-minute NBA All-Star Game format:
- The league office and the players wanted it to feel like more of a real game, so they dropped the gimmicks.
- The old format relied too heavily on entertainment: draft, intros, halftime, etc.
- This extra fan fare, never allowed players to stay warm or get in a routine.
Excited to see the impact these changes have on the level of competition we see tomorrow.
