your definition of “messy” being limited to intrasexual rivalry between women, jealousy and insecurity over our value to men is insulting to the interiority displayed by women who write about mortality, power imbalances, trauma and its lingering impacts. taylor being one of them
thinking about “skydiving as you wrapped your arms around my body” and “pushed from the precipice, clung to the nearest lips” and “i don’t like that falling feels like flying ‘til the bone crush”

One year of knowing The Life of a Showgirl... wouldn’t have it any other way. To celebrate, a full expanded look at the #PatientZeroMusicVideo is on @AppleMusic now and coming to YouTube on Monday!❤️🔥 #1YearOfTSTLOAS https://t.co/iGBfOB7y7u
the decision to portray the song as a ghost story was spot-on, like, it gives it a new raw intensity and also serves to highlight the solidarity expressed in the song over any desire for or right to revenge, because the ghost doesn’t return to torment him, but to save her
The Patient Zero video is finally out in the world! Getting to work with Emmanuel Lubezki was something out of a dream sequence, and I learned so much from getting to watch his genius in action. I want to thank Dakota and Colin for trusting me with their time, taste, and talent (Giggling with your friend because you’re twinning for an entire shoot was a new and truly delightful experience). And Colin’s turn as a villain is even more impressive when you get to be around him. He’s an absolute light and as kind as they come. Cara, thank you for agreeing to play the lusty other woman. That’s what friends are for?
With the Patient Zero video, I got to explore the cinematic and literary genres I love so much. I wanted to incorporate elements of gothic ghost stories, true crime, psychological thrillers all in a setting I hadn’t really shot in much. The house was a metaphor for the coldness of a relationship that’s faded and atrophied. Thank you to Ethan Tobman for your insightful production design, and bringing that feeling to life. My editor Chancler Haynes has outdone himself. And lastly, thank you to the VMAs for giving us a World Premiere at the place where celebrating music videos became a thing. And so much love for you guys, always. Watch now on https://t.co/5gUyQ8yBJf

obsessed with how Babylon kinda falls into a void between Midnight Rain and I Hate It Here. what happens when an addict to the "if only" goes away to a free life, only to discover that their search for purpose is just a facade
