To be transparent. As of today. I am not a catholic, or orthodox. I have a protestant background. And have been actively engaging catholics and trying to come to their true understanding. Something that most protestants cant seem to do.

@LunkermackJoe @Guitardo7 Thats a half truth. Hebrews teaches that the sacraficial system could not permanenly forgive sins. It was only temporary and could not change/restore the heart like the ultimate true sacraficial lamb can.

What do you say about passages like Leviticus 16:30?

@Kryptotajeer Well, 2 things. He was beaten almost to death already before being put on the cross. Also, he gave up his soul, he wasnt killed. He laid it down om his own.

@LunkermackJoe @Guitardo7 The requirements to be blameless did Change. The requirements to be saved have not. Within all covenenants faith in god and his promises is required.

Other wise the "new covenant" would not be "not like the old" for something to not be like the old, implies a change.

@LunkermackJoe I think you may have misinterpreted my first response then. My point is, You can be imperfect, and "keep the law."

Being perfect, and keeping the law are not the same thing. Clearly, as a laid out.

Nobody is truly perfect. Only Jesus.

@LunkermackJoe @Guitardo7 Blameless is not having been saved by faith alone. Blameless in the case of John's parents is old covenant following of the laws sacrificial system and law keeping. All of which Require faith in the Messiah. Jesus Christ. God.
