You need to fight for your life.

Every single day you need to keep fighting because nobody is coming.

The government that borrowed ₦62 trillion in three years and cannot show you where it went. The system that accepted 37.5% as a university entrance score and called it education policy. Or the institutions built to protect you but designed to protect themselves. Nobody is coming, and the sooner that truth lands in your chest the sooner you start moving differently.

I have watched people wait. Wait for the economy to stabilise, wait for the right time, for permission from people who will never give it. Until the waiting itself became the life they were living. A whole life, spent waiting for something that was never going to arrive.

The man who opened Bamboo with his last $24 and asked me what to do with it is not waiting. He is fighting with what he has, from where he is, at the size he currently is. That is not small, it is everything.

Fighting for your life looks different for everyone. For some it is investing the last money in your pocket. For some it is leaving what is bleeding you. For some it is learning a skill at 40 because everything you built at 25 is collapsing.

For some it is staying when every instinct says run, planting something in difficult ground, and refusing to be moved.
Whatever your version looks like, do it with urgency.

Do not panic because panic is scatters. Urgency is focused while panic reacts to everything. Urgency moves toward one thing with everything it has.

You do not have unlimited time, it is not pessimism. That is the most clarifying truth available to you right now. The land appreciates while you hesitate. The opportunity prices you out while you wait for certainty. The life you want does not pause while you build the courage to pursue it.

Fight with N5,000 if that is what you have. Fight from your one room in Kuje, your bedsitter in Surulere, your shared flat in Peckham.

Because the alternative is not rest. The alternative is watching your life become a series of things that happened to you instead of things you chose. And that is the quietest, most painful way to lose everything.

You were not born to survive. You were born to build and that’s your assignment.

Get up and get moving. Do not stop oga.
