‼️ COUNCIL TAX - As councils all increase tax to the maximum and some even declare bankruptcy, in order to increase by up to 25%. I ask myself….
When Keir Starmer promised “Not a penny more on your Council Tax.”

Things starting to change this week and definition is starting to appear at MGC nice to get out and overseed with 007 to finish the week off, good work boys ☀️
Little upgrade on the 11th bridge we built 14 years ago. Started showing signs of rot, so action was needed and some Sapele was ordered. Nice to have a couple of days off waterlogged ground. Great job team MGC, there’s not much these boys can’t do 👏🏻👌🏼🪚
Course closed today unfortunately, another 10mm fell through the night taking us over 2” for the week. On a more positive note we’re 3 days into phase 2 on the greens drainage here’s a clip of the first two greens completed 💪🏼
Just a reminder to the membership that tomorrow we start phase two on greens drainage. This will see disruption for 2/3 weeks while we complete another 9 greens. The first 3 greens completed in order will be 13,12, 2. Updates will go out daily.
No rain - perfect time to punch holes in the greens to help dry out the top few inch. That said the greens team will be starting to drain another 9 greens next week so these greens have to remain untouched like they have for the past 8 weeks in order to cut the turf effectively
JEEZ - We wanted to divert the new ditch outfall away from the 7th and into the main carry along and down the 6th to help dry up the 7th fairway. Looks like we found the problem for the wet spots on the 7th carry anyway. In for a penny, we ain’t giving up, it will be done!
Untouched over grown woodland to tidy managed woodland in just 3 days. A very productive week, team green have been flying 🔥🪵 BTME next week and finish off some snagging jobs then onto the next project - 11th bridge rebuild in Sapele hardwood 👌🏼🪚
After what seemed like never ending rain it’s great to get the blades out and do some cutting. 2023 totalled up to 1,610mm of rain which was 22% above average and the second wettest in the last 13 years. Got a lot of exciting projects coming up in spring💪🏼

The course maybe shut but there’s plenty to do. This past week we’ve been ticking off areas from our woodland management plan and now the frost/snow has eased off we can focus on the leaves again. Busy few weeks in the build up to Christmas 🪵🍂🍁
How it started V’s how it’s going . . . Investigating a wet spot and finding out the culverts are 95% blocked up with decades of silt and soil! 1 hour job turning into a 3 day dig. New water feature perhaps??
