Happy to announce our work "Event-driven Function-as-a-Service across the Edge-Cloud Continuum" is on the best paper shortlist at UCC2023.

(Unhappy to announce I couldn't present in-person due to plane issues, another story for another thread)
Such flexibility is needed for geo-distributed Urgent Applications (in which reactivity and timeliness of decisions across systems are critical). We evaluated this on a fire science scenario while stressing the system with variable workloads and infrastructure conditions.
This work augment the adaptability of the R-Pulsar middleware to design implicit workflows, and integrating OpenWolf/FaaS to distribute and reuse functions across the Edge-Fog-Cloud Continuum.
Happy to share our workshop on Urgent Computing will be co-located with CCGRID 2024.
