Cubs rant inbound. 😂
If you promised me Jed Hoyer and Carter Hawkins would be gone tomorrow, I'd take another 8-0 drubbing by the Padres tonight with a smile.
Give me a FO that prioritizes swing and miss. Not this "we're gonna all throw 92 mph four seamers because 2-seamers find barrels - just need to hit our spots and pitch to the defense" BS we've been R&D'ing ever since Carter got here.
AND THEY STILL CAN'T KEEP THE BALL IN THE YARD.
They had to save Ben Brown by going back and having him learn a sinker before he reaggravated his neck injury. The first thing Toronto did after we DFA'd Taillon was have him ditch the 4-seamer and he gave them a respectable 10 innings.
They folded and went after Cabrera (who sucks, but also a 2-seamer/sinker guy), a sinker baller in Holmes and splitfinger specialist in Gausman. The antithesis of what they spent 5 years trying to establish here. That's on Jed and Carter.
They failed. And you can't just blame losing Horton and Steele for the failings of the pitching lab as a whole.
Today marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11. It’s kind of amazing to me how enemies both at home and abroad have tried to rationalize this terrorist attack. It’s insane to me we have politicians nowadays who literally side with the terrorists. We must never forget the sacrifice that so many made and we must never stop supporting our heroes. The United States may not be perfect but it is still the best country in the world and its not particularly close. 9/11 serves as a reminder that we must continually fight for our freedoms and way of life that we take for granted.
I”m proud to have a very close relationship with @Tunnel2Towers which support all our countries heroes. We are selling Tunnel to Towers hats and tshirts and Im running in their 5k on the 27th in NYC. 100% of that proceeds will go to Tunnel to Towers and I’ll also match every dollar myself though the 27th. As always thank you for the support

The great thing about football is your team can only piss you off once a week, sometimes twice. Baseball? You just get kicked in the balls day after day after day for months.
“Why’s Notre Dame’s schedule worse than Miami’s. I haven’t heard one person talking about Miami’s SOS”
“You guys would be independent if you could. Just remember that. Every single one of these teams… they would, they can’t” - @Shanemgillis

Cubs fans in May: This is an awful, heartless, lifeless team. They might never win again, and they are sapping my will to live.
Cubs fans now: This is the most magical, life-affirming team in baseball history. They shall never lose again, and I love them more than life itself.
americans posting that they are rooting against USMNT because the president got involved are the worst people in all of this.
oh i’m getting on my political moral high horse to root for *checks notes* belgium. get the fuck out of my face, man lmao
Americans arguing over the Flo Balogun non-suspension is THE MOST American thing I think I’ve ever seen.
Half the people think it’s great. Half the people think it’s wrong because Trump pushed FIFA to do it.
Here’s my take: Balogun shouldn’t have been assessed a red card. He shouldn’t have to miss tonight’s match. If you were president, would you just cross your arms and say “sorry but VAR said it was a red”
The real story here is how FIFA has the most ambiguous rules and they do it for THIS reason, to go with whichever way the wind blows.
In the end, the guy who should be playing IS playing. FIFA is corrupt, we all know it, but the right thing is happening tonight.
