@dbldealer Magazine, issue 14, published my short story, set in Appalachia, about a young man who hunts and then befriends a psychic sasquatch. Lot of Appalachian folk magic in that tale.
Sasquatch is called a Yeahoh there. It's a Scotch-Irish version of the word Yahoo, which Daniel Boone borrowed from Jonathan Swift in Gulliver's Travels.
