it amazes me how quickly people abandon years of context over a few seconds of footage, especially when the narrative is coming from accounts that have spent years hoping for the worst 😂
if your first instinct is to believe the most malicious interpretation of an ordinary interaction, maybe ask yourself why that’s the version you’re so eager to accept.
it’s perfectly normal to have friends of the opposite sex. a split-second clip of people crossing the street isn’t a revelation about anyone’s personal life. and it certainly isn’t proof of anything. crazy how a few seconds of footage is now enough for people to fill in every blank w whatever story they already wanted to believe.
and wasn’t this exactly the point of taking a step back? to give two people the freedom to grow, work, travel, make new memories, maintain old friendships, and simply live without every interaction becoming a referendum on their personal lives??
let people breathe. let people live. let them be. stop putting invisible leashes on people just because they’ve chosen to share parts of their lives w you.
