Worth remembering that there will be progress measures (KS1-2) for new Y6 (and Y5). There will be no major change to the methodology last used in 2023, but the benchmarks estimates will change (as they always do). Good idea to re-familiarise yourself with guidance at some point.

As a headteacher I have immense influence. Since coming out as a sigma in assembly and walking around the place mewing and calling everything skibidi we have seen a 100% reduction in Y6 boys being interested in such gubbins.

Making Christmas cards in primary school can sometimes be a last minute activity or may be disconnected from the rest of the curriculum.

Our Design Technology lead, @AbidaHamid11, has developed a curriculum for making cards which builds directly on what pupils already know about mechanisms from our DT curriculum.

We think it makes sense to use this opportunity to practise what pupils have already learned in DT and, of course, to make a card that would take pride of place on any mantelpiece!

It’s somewhat problematic that the DfE and Ofsted have differing definitions of ‘disadvantaged pupils’. DfE count FSM6, LAC and adopted; Ofsted include SEND and children in care.
