@adiehull Proper cringe that you lot all call him Mr Marinakis. The fat slob got dropped at the basketball in front of everyone and you’re all in awe of him 🤣
@YouBloodyReds In that case we’ll have N’Diaye and Gibbs-White, if transfer plausibility is based on selective metric top-trumps like you seem to think it is 👍🏽
@BrewersFayre1 No denial whatsoever. I’m presenting facts and you’re trying to counter it with subjective options about formats and quality of opposition. I’m beginning to think your argument is born out of jealousy that you’ve never seen your team with a European trophy, unless you’re 50+
@BrewersFayre1@danielstorey85 If that’s the case then why have Spurs, Leicester and Villa all competed in but failed to win it? Did you start banging on about budgets when Roma - a club with relatively sizeable European pedigree - won it, or is this warped logic applied exclusively to English teams?
@BrewersFayre1@danielstorey85 No, I’m calling it nonsense because it is - and none of the arguments you’re advancing are based on facts. The idea that success is only meaningful when achieved by an underdog is quite ridiculous.
@Forest_Review Embarrassing that you still go on about them in the way you do. You’d have to be in your mid to late 50s to have any recollection of them
@BrewersFayre1@danielstorey85 Why is the Conference League a joke? Also, when Champions League sides did drop into the Europa League it was rarely the case that they went on to win it. Genuinely, the idea that there is a crisis because English sides are currently on top is nonsense.
@BrewersFayre1@danielstorey85 That’s not my point. Spending power being heavily weighted in the favour PL clubs was as prevalent back then too - but it didn’t impact the outcome. Just because clubs with more resources have won the last 2 isn’t indicative of a problem as it’s not usually a determining factor.
@JPH_84_NG@danielstorey85 So a decade’s worth of results that disprove the theory should be overlooked, but the last two years’ results should serve as proof of a problem?
@stesmithy48@danielstorey85 If we look at the Conference League, again there’s a narrative forming that it’s easy meat for the English teams - but Spurs, Leicester and Aston Villa have all played in it but failed to win. We’ll see how Brighton do.
@stesmithy48@danielstorey85 I take your point but what I’m saying is it’s all based on the two most recent seasons and ignores the previous decade, throughout which English teams actually underachieved. Let’s see how the next 2-3 years goes before we start getting in a panic about there being a problem
