Frost: "I'm anxious to see their response when inevitably Ohio State makes a play or 2 on us. Hits us in the mouth, scores on us, whatever happens. I want to see a bunch of guys that don't like that but aren't afraid of the next play ... and continue to try to make great plays."
Players: The average college player spends 3,000 hours on their game in 4 years. Only 4% of that is actual game play! You’re going to need mental & physical stamina, toughness & a willingness to work to compete. You have to love the process of what it takes. Are you that player?
Effort shouldn’t ever slump.
Effort is a conscious decision.
Effort is a non-negotiable.
Effort is not conditional.
YOUR effort is who YOU are at the core. So who are you: the guy who runs hard only when sniffing a hit, or the guy who takes his frustration out by going hard?
100 good swings off the tee a day takes about 40 minutes to complete. If you do that 4 days a week for 40 weeks out of a year you will spend roughly 100 hours per year to get 16,000 more swings. Ask yourself how many other HS guys are doing that and how much better you could be?
PLAYERS: Setting goals is far better than having dreams.
A dream is something that exists only in the mind. A goal is something that is consciously thought about and worked towards.
Create a path. Write it down. Communicate it to others. Embrace the journey. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
When evaluating and/or recruiting players, do not overlook how a player comes on and off the field, how he handles adversity, how he handles success...
Watch him in all of components of the game.
Not just how he hits, runs and throws.
