Responsibility carries with it responsibility. We must do our part.
In communion we profess the sacrifice of Christ...as a body of believers. We do this in anticipation of Christ' return. And the NT church did this, according to Scripture that mention communion, every time they met.
Preaching is most definitely an act of worship. Everything a Christian does though is an act of worship if it's done as unto God, as it should be. But preaching as the central act of worship? No.
Communion holds that distinction.
Any consideration of Christian preaching must begin with the realization that preaching is essentially an act of worship—the central act of Christian worship.
