You can’t compare us with Singapore. Compare population and per capita income.

So Singapore is a valid comparison when defending pollution but suddenly an unfair comparison when discussing infrastructure? Pick a standard. You can’t cherry pick comparisons to defend every failure.

Layoffs are becoming common.

The least the government can do is not tax severance pay, benefits, and full and final settlement.

Individual taxpayers contribute more than corporates in the country.

This is all the more significant given that only about 2% of the population pays income tax.

Taxpayers don’t get proportional benefits from the government.

Not taxing severance pay would put more money in the hands of affected employees.

This is the least the government can do for taxpayers.

🚨 Green light, a crawl forward, and a bike came from nowhere.

A car owner says he started moving at a green signal at a walking pace. A two-wheeler rider, reportedly without a helmet, cuts across from the wrong side of the flow and crashes in front of the car.

The car stops almost instantly. The rider gets up and, per the owner, blames the driver. The owner says he later got a partial payment and the rider stopped responding. ⚠️

Moving slowly on green is what likely kept this from being worse. Riding against traffic without a helmet puts the rider at the greatest risk. 🪖

Green doesn’t mean clear. Scan both sides before you move off. Riders: right side, helmet on, every time. Have you had a close call at a signal?
