Woman Shot in Southeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metropolitan Police Department officers are investigating a shooting after a woman arrived at a location in Southeast Washington suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to preliminary information, the victim was located in the 800 block of H.R. Drive Southeast.

The adult female was conscious and breathing when emergency crews arrived and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

A police presence remained in the area as investigators worked to determine where and under what circumstances the shooting occurred.

No suspect information has been released at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing.
