1. The most important thing I learnt today was the term "Starchitects". I feel that this is important as applauded architects in the modern age often are recognised for their 'signature styles', but when considering the behind the scenes(1/2)

..and whatever glory they are showered with, I find it amusing that these 'celebrities' are about the media coverage of their name and their so called splendid work when it was probably 400 other people working on jt as well. #BE904#BE904_5#S1W04#BE904R1
2. I found this lecture quite normal. Nothing too stand off-ish that catches my eye or perks up my interest, that is not to say that it was a bad lecture. #BE904#BE904_5#S1W04#BE904R2
I agree. When it comes to structures, even if its the most mind-blowing and aesthetically pleasing building, if it cannot do it's job, it ultimately becomes useless and therefore has no purpose than 'sit still and look pretty'. #BE904#S1W03
be fitting in other locations. Function comes first, and a building should be focused on users needs before considering the aesthetics of the building. (/end) #BE904#BE904_3#BE904R1#S1W03
I agree with your statement. As newbie designers, we often look towards the aesthetic rather than the functionality of structures, which often we learn along the way. Thus, this learning point is actually good for everyone to know. #BE904#S1W03
R1: The most important thing I learned today was that before designing, we shouldn’t be thinking of how the building will look like as that is the wrong process of thought instead of designing process, our minds have turned to styling process.(1/4) #BE904#BE904_3#BE904Rq#S1W03

3. Nothing I struggled with, though I wanna know why Gabion walls aren't considered structurally sound in the given example project. #BE904#BE904_5#BE904R3#S1W03
1. An interesting thing I learnt in todays lesson is actually Moshe Safdie's reasoning behind his designs. I find that I resonate very well with his ideology of 'you need to, as an architect, understand the essence of a place and create a (1/2)

2. I found this lecture quite intriguing as whilst the concept of 'creathievery' is nothing new, I do find that the lesson showing us various examples give me a sort of hindsight of what they are like. Also, the camouflage part is funny. #BE904#BE904_5#BE904R2#S1W03
@emma_htet2eain Thought of the same thing! Though I wonder whether some of these 'guides and rules' can have alternative options. The foundations and fundamentals aside, I believe there is more than meets the eye when solving such problems :D #BE904#BE904_5#S1W02
@Ruban_DARCH05 Same thinking. Cement, openings, and windows. 4 walls and just a roof. Yes, it serves the purpose of a building but lacks aesthetics. Thus, the articulation of buildings is quite the essential factor when it comes to buildings~

3. The sole struggle I had was the 'Formal' part. Didn't quite understand it's concept. Is it to say that the structure lacks an exciting attribute whereby it only serves it's purpose? #BE904#BE904_5#BE904R3#S1W02
1. I actually have 2 things I found to be most important that I have learnt. The 1st being, things naturally have shapes, yet their distinguishing factor is its form. This is in correlation with the 2nd surprisingly important thing I learnt (1/3) #BE904#BE904_5#BE904R1#S1W02
2. I found this lecture quite enjoyable as precedent case studies always excite me. From the descriptions and justifications to how I can learn something from them and apply an ingenious design. #BE904#BE904_5#BE904R2#S1W02
