March 24, 2006: The original series "Hannah Montana" premieres following the debut of the DCOM "Cow Belles."

To say the show was a phenomenon would be a huge understatement, and its prominence came to define Disney Channel for years to come.

January 20, 2006: The DCOM "High School Musical" premieres and becomes a surprise cultural phenomenon. Over 7,732,000 viewers saw the debut, which was preceded by a new "Suite Life" episode (which also starred Ashley Tisdale).

With 65 episodes and a theatrical feature, this hit series would become the standard for Disney Channel originals going forward.
