After an extensive rehabilitation project, the Dupont Circle Fountain is flowing again. Now properly balanced and waterproofed, the fountain will run until cold temperatures required it to be winterized. #WashingtonDC

After years of renovations, Union Station reopened to the public. Union Station had seemed doomed in the 1970s when railroads were in decline. Congress approved the $181 million renovation project in 1981 to restore the station to its former glory.

We’ve been on cherry blossom watch here at @librarycongress, waiting for our 100-year-old cherry blossom trees to bloom. It is looking beautiful today.
We are home to two of the original group of 3,020 Yoshino cherry trees given to Washington, DC, in 1912, by the city of Tokyo.
@whatpreferences @WendyACronin This is a mistake, peak bloom is definitely not this Wednesday! The National Park Service will be announcing their peak bloom PREDICTIONS on Wednesday. 😄
It's happening! Small green buds are on the Yoshino cherry trees, marking the first of six stages on the way to peak bloom.

IT HAS BEGUN! 🌸 Some of our cherry trees are already flowering here in DC. We may have a record breaking peak bloom this year, likely around mid-March, so join one of our bloom tours early at https://t.co/669X7i4MyU.
