ما هي البيانات؟

سؤالٌ قد يبدو بسيطًا، لكنّه ورغم بساطته، إلا أنّه يتجاوز كونه مجرد سؤال يحتاج لإجابة واحدة!

فالبيانات بالنسبة لشخصٍ، قد تكون هي الرؤى والاتجاهات التي تظهر من خلال التحليل، وبالنسبة لآخر هي كالمعلومات الأساسية التي تحرك عملية اتخاذ القرار، ومع ذلك، يبقى الهدف الأساسي للبيانات واضحًا: تسهيل حياتنا وتنظيمها وجعلها أكثر قابلية للتخطيط.

البيانات هي أساس كل شيء حولنا، وبسببها فقط يتحول الخيال واقعًا!

What is data?

A question on everyone’s mind who were attending the Regional Data and Community Development Forum. As simple as it may seem, the definition of data goes beyond a single explanation.

To one person, data might mean insights and trends, and to another, it might represent the raw information that drives decision-making. But ultimately, the goal of data is clear: to make life easier, more feasible, and organised.

Ultimately, everything around us is made possible through data.

سعادة عبدالله غريب القمزي، مدير عام مركز الإحصاء بأبوظبي، يؤكد أن حماية خصوصية وسرية البيانات كانت أحد الأسباب الرئيسية لتطوير عملية التعداد وتحويلها من تعداد يُنفذ مرة واحدة كل عشر سنوات إلى 40 تعدادًا يُنفذ خلال نفس الفترة!

H.E. Abdulla Gharib AlQemzi, Director General of Statistics Centre, Abu Dhabi, shares that protecting the privacy and confidentiality of data was one of the main reasons for evolving the census process.
Instead of conducting a census once every ten years, it has been transformed into 40 censuses conducted over the same period!

سعادة عامر شرف، المدير التنفيذي لقطاع أنظمة وخدمات الأمن السبرياني، يوضح أن أهم خطوة في طريق حماية البيانات هو أن نقوم بتصنيفها وتنظيمها.

Cybersecurity has become the most discussed topic of the age!

H.E. Amer Sharaf, CEO of Cyber Security Systems and Services Sector at the Dubai Electronic Security Center, explains that the most important step in protecting data is to classify and organise it.

سعادة د. عائشة بن بشر، خبيرة دولية في التحول الرقمي وقائدة استراتيجية في مبادرات المدن الذكية، تؤكد ضرورة حماية البيانات عن طريق تطوير أدوات حمايتها، لأننا نعيش في عالم متسارع ينتج كميات هائلة من البيانات في كل لحظة.

The more data is transferred, the more loopholes arise!

H.E. Dr. Aisha Bin Bisher, Global Digital Transformation Expert and Strategic Leader in Smart City Initiatives, draws attention to the necessity of protecting data by developing advanced protection tools. She points out that we live in a fast-paced world that generates vast amounts of data every moment, and there is a need to safeguard this data against potential attacks.

أ.د. حسين سكر، رئيس قسم المعلومات في جامعة الشارقة، يركز على أهمية تبسيط البيانات وتوعية المجتمع بأهميتها وتشجيع التعليم المرتبط بالقدرات المعرفية في مجال البيانات، لما لها أثر في تطوير المجتمعات بشكل ملحوظ.

Professor Huseyin Seker, Chair of Information Systems Department, UOS, places emphasis on the need of educating the public about data and promoting data literacy education, which can help the societies evolve

د. إنعام يوسف محمد أستاذ علم الاجتماع المشارك في جامعة عجمان، تشرح ماهية الرفاهية والرضا المجتمعي وعلاقتيهما بالبيانات والتنمية المستدامة.

Dr. Enaam Youssef, Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Ajman University, explains the concept of well-being and societal satisfaction and how they are related with data and sustainable development.

معالي د. هالة السعيد، مستشارة رئيس جمهورية مصر العربية للتنمية الاقتصادية، ووزيرة التخطيط والتنمية الاقتصادية سابقًا، توضح مدى أهمية البيانات للوقوف على المستويات التعليمية للمرأة لتحديد السياسات المختلفة المناسبة التي يجب على الدولة والقطاع الخاص اتباعها لزيادة تطوير مهارات المرأة باستمرار وزيادة نسبة مشاركتها في سوق العمل وبالتالي تطوير المجتمع واقتصاده.

Dr. Bushra Al Ghamdi, Surveillance and Analytics Manager at the Gulf Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, shares the several ways the Gulf CDC tackles the challenges in the GCC region to bridge the gaps in public health, ensuring that health services are effectively aligned with the region’s requirements.
