@airtransat for the 2nd time u rebooked my club flights to italy, now my 14 day trip is 20 days... didn't even get an email. Only noticed when I logged in to verify my seats. Unable to rebook because your website is nothing but errors, and 2 hour wait on the phone. what service!
It's tough as heck to work in digital government. Ontario Digital Service is doing amazing. The public can't see the complexity - working with multiple departments, trying to do the right thing technically, and being governed by political announcements...hard as heck.
possibly the coolest thing I've seen on the internet in recent memory, a huge leap from the cell structure diagrams of high school bio of yore https://t.co/Mvu0yq19r3
@cogecohelps That page doesn't provide much by way of info, can you share some details about what's causing the outage? Did someone hit the line with a backhoe or something?
I think one of the most important skills to learn leading technology teams is to differentiate between people who tell you what you want to hear and those who tell you what you need to know
@scottfarkas I'm not one to go direct to the CEO most days, but I can't believe the run around atlassian support is giving me right now, a small administrative hiccup is crippling our jira instance and nobody seems willing to help! @atlassianhelp
@ecobee so, if I'm understanding what your support agent just told me, this new ecobee with room sensor is incapable of just setting the temp to the temp set on the thermostat and will always average between thermostat and sensor, even if the room is unoccupied. Correct?
@recrum1@ecobee I guess that works if you have lots of sensors, but if you only have a 3lite and one room sensor because you bought the Costco kit, the room sensor is pointless because it will always default to averaging both in all scenarios it seems
@honeygolightly@pahlkadot Technology modernization isn't a meaningful end in/of itself (nor is policy or process simplification), but rather a vehicle for better outcomes. Better outcomes should be simpler for the intended recipients, but sometimes complexity is necessary to deliver better outcomes
There’s one in particular that’s tearing through Instagram and Twitter, spread by some really big accounts. There’s no source, and it pushes absurdly precise numbers with no caveats or contextual info. Most experts support wearing a mask! But please do *not* spread junk science!
