I am still wearing a mask indoors and increasingly I am the only one. Case rates and test positivity in my state exceed what we saw in the delta wave and hospitalizations not far behind. I wanted to avoid covid then and I want to avoid covid now. It's worth it to me to mask up.

why the start of this year
feels so much worse
than the start of last year
know that it is because
a year ago at this time
you still had hope.
Reading stats and anecdotes, here is my best guess for the holiday season. If you go to an inside party or crowded bar/restaurant without a mask, you should expect to get COVID. You may not if you are lucky. But that should be what you balance your decision to attend with. COVID.
