Do people really believe an independent Alberta would somehow be an economic disaster?

I find that almost laughable.

The largest economy on Earth sits directly across Alberta’s southern border, and it already buys nearly 90% of our exports. The federal policies holding back investment, energy and development could be stripped away almost immediately.

Every condition would be there for a massive economic boom.

The bigger problem might be figuring out how to manage all the people trying to move here.

Border security and the drug crisis.

A major western drug pipeline runs from Vancouver into Calgary and Edmonton.

As an independent country, Alberta could establish a secure international border through the Rockies, turning a handful of mountain highways into controlled checkpoints.

We could make it dramatically harder to move fentanyl, meth and other deadly drugs into our communities.

Independence wouldn��t just give Alberta control of its economy.

It would give us control of our border.

And perhaps our best opportunity yet to break Alberta’s drug crisis at the source.
