WB's biggest favor to Snyder is going through 3 new regime and not coming close to the slate he was cooking.
They mega fucked Justice League and then cut off his slate at Aquaman (Shazam was New Line).
We all see the results.
You can see Corenswets take on Clark Was vastly different (and better imo) in his screen test. Clearly a more calm & collected Clark Kent reminiscent of reeves, routh, & cavills previous portrayals.
Much like your example You can see Gunns fingerprints all over it in the finished product. From the screaming dialogue to the goofy perm. It’s definitely NOT what corenswet had in mind.
Jonathan doesn't see Clark as an invincible god. There wasn't enough time for him to run all the way over & carry him back. He'd have to use his powers. He was going to but Jonathan told him to stay, and because of what Clark said earlier to him, he chose to listen to his father.
James Gunn DCU fans pretending to be comic fans is the greatest larper grift ive ever seen. These weirdos have only read 2 comic books (they havent even read em, they just brought em because Daddy gunn told them to)
1. All-Star Superman
2. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow
The ending of SUPERMAN (2025) feels like James Gunn planting a flag. After years of darker takes on the character, the final moments double down on optimism, compassion, and the belief that Superman’s greatest power is simply being Superman.
I think showing the civilians on the ground during this big battle, and having them try to rescue another person, but when they cant and think theyre gonna die, they stay with her, is Such a beautiful scene to put in a superman movie. Embodies everything the character represents
