The fact that a justify offspring has won a 2 1/2 mile turf race means that breeding for distance/speed isn’t a genetic thing but a mindset horses that are stayers can’t be unhinged and speed horses can’t be lackluster it’s more the upbringing and training than the actual breeding.

@ponyace With that said I agree it’s a tough thankless job that many do super well and no they don’t want to scratch, most of the time they are correct too but some have found this new found power of hisa and used it to treat all trainers like we are all trying to hide unsound horses.

@ponyace I was told by state vet i couldn’t work the horse off the list and that I had to either give the horse a year off or retire the horse. Owner went with the retirement option.
