@SF_emergency Someone is stealing the phone lines from the poles out here on @SFTIDA in the middle of the night. My alarm wakes me between 3 and 4 AM. Multiple lines in my house are down. ATT Tech told me what the problem was. This is the FOURTH time it's happened in less than two months.
@ampledata@SF_emergency Typically, I find out about this when my burglar alarm senses the loss of the landline signal sometime between 3 and 4 in the morning.
@ampledata@SF_emergency This is the fourth time in about 7 weeks. The first time it happened, the lineman told us that someone is stealing the overhead phone lines.
@HamRadioWorld This thinking is so backward. We're fighting for freedom by restricting the freedom of the people threatened? Anything that opens the flow of information to a sequestered population should be protected.
Dear @Hyatt looking forward to my stay. Finally not too busy to figure out why I've never been able to log into the app. When designing an account number format that is mostly numbers but a letter at the end. You should skip the letter "O" #uxdesign
@LondonBreed The recent encryption of all police radio is a long step backwards. Keep PII and special ops secure, but let us hear what's happening in the city so that we can be aware citizens.
Public safety is public. There is value in clear communications for an informed city.
The crime is bad in #SanFrancisco right now. Today, @sfpd encrypted all of their radio channels. Now the public doesn't know what's happening and can't use that to stay safe anymore.
#DecryptThePolice#publicSafety is about keeping the public safe, not the police secret.
@ampledata The problem he was having with that camera is not in the way it's authorized. I don't want to talk about it in public but there's a design flaw in the way these work. I think the burglar knew how to exploit it
@SFPD Great job Central Station! Thanks for putting the resources to the operation. Your plainclothes teams have always done a great job on these operations, from what I used to be able to hear.
@SFPD@SFPD is a leader in transparent policing. That's why I'm surprised and disappointed at the almost complete encryption planned for the new radio system. No doubt about it, this is a busy city for #Police. I rely on these communications to keep my family and community safe.
