@gsoccertalk @dcunited Haha well we can agree to disagree on the long ball game. For me it’s antithetical to what I feel is DC’s true essence, the triangles of the 90’s, the Gomez era, the DeRo era, and the Lucho era. I see that potential today with Peglow, Pirani, Kijima if we forget long balls

@LaMichealDawg @dcunited I think Pirani is a much better player than Stroud, and speaks the same language (literally and metaphorically) as Peglow. I see our only real hope this season as Pirani and Peglow getting in sync, and it feels totally doable

@gsoccertalk @dcunited The single biggest problem is the tactics, and unrelenting long ball game. Reality this is a mid table MLS team that could do ok (make playoffs) with solid coaching. But Troy is just really not up to the task, looks totally defeated every game. I wouldn’t want to play for him

@gsoccertalk @dcunited And I don’t know about Schnegg. Maybe he is our best option there. Herrera hasn’t been great either, as much as I like him. Despite his current form, at least he’s talented. Otherwise our backline is just so devoid of skill it’s amazing

Pirani is a much better player than Stroud. Simple as that. He understands the game in a way that Stroud never will. His play reminds me of Lucho in his early DC days, before he lit up.
